Support

The Darby Friends Meeting is active in areas related to the Quaker values of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship.

To that end we are currently engaged in the following projects:

  • Restoration of our Meetinghouse (1805) and Old Schoolmasters Cottage (c. 1690)
  • Care & Maintenance of our Burial Grounds, and Meetinghouse grounds
  • Historical research on the Anti-slavery movement and Underground Railroad activism
  • Support of the Darby Library Co. (founded by meeting members in 1743 and now the Darby Borough public library. It is the oldest continuing public library in the United States)
  • Genealogical research
  • Developing programming in traditional building techniques and materials
  • Renovation of our urban forests by removal of invasive species and planting of new trees and shrubs
  • Outreach to the surrounding community
  • In-kind support of the Darby Tree Tenders & Darby Residents Association

Support for any of these activities is welcome and much appreciated, and we are a registered non-profit. Please contact our Clerk, John Child, for more information at johnchild@paulandpaul.com , or checks can be sent to:
